what started out as “quietly taking my dad’s camera” turned into a passion for me. when i was younger, it was a rare opportunity to get my hands on his camera, but eventually that camera became mine, as i used it more and more often. i would shoot the silliest things – flowers, wires, curtains, candies -, but in the end i actually got acquainted with all the buttons and switches and their meanings. that little point&shoot camera is still my very best friend.
when i was 12, i admired the camera’s ability to capture things the way i see them. now, when i’m nearly 18, i admire its ability to alter what i see.
i love to play with colours, angles and composition. i dislike post-processing my photos digitally, hence i prefer showing different perspectives rather than outstanding concepts. however, ever since i’ve acquired a film camera, my favourite technique is double exposure, which is great for conceptual photos. i get inspired by science concepts, word plays, interactions between people, music, everything and nothing at the same time. i think that the easiest way how to convey the message and provoke others is taking portraits, and indeed, that’s my favourite genre of photography.
