* «First performance as Martin Confused was in spring 2007 at «Rozā Peldbaseins» festival. The first time I held guitar in my hands was in middle school.. about 8 years ago. I played french horn before that. Symphonic music still is very close to my heart.»
* «When writing a song, music comes first. Then everything else. I write all lyrics myself. These usually are short stories about me and people around. I don’t like it too much that people refering to me as a singer-songwriter. It usually is associated to a bard, poet – the kind of person, who tells the stories through words. I am not that kind of person at all, I think music is a much stronger medium than words to express ones emotions, therefore song lyrics are always secondary comparing to music.»

* «I have a lot of small dreams, which I try to fulfill. But there is no particular big dream – my vision and outlook changes all the time – things find their places and all I do is try to stay in harmony with all this flow.»

* «Music isn’t my livelihood. I don’t want to ruin this magic by turning it into everyday routine. It might sounds prophetic but I didn’t have the choice either to start doing this or not. The only question was when and how. The fact that now I am recording songs and they are playing on radio stations is more of a logical outcome, that could have never happened. After all I am not any kind of super star, I do not earn thousands – I would gladly pass this role to someone else, who will do it better. Money and fame for sure are not my leitmotivs. I love music too much to really not be doing it.»

* «I was born in Riga. Not that long ago actually. It was cold day in February. May be this is what affected my character. Who knows.. I actually am the best person in the world. And I guess I forgot to mention I am the most modest one too. I am quite calm, but I can freak out. I think I am quite shy and not too sociable. It’s a good think we are all different. I love sweets and music and inspiring photographs and pictures. I hate mushrooms, seafood and humiliation.»
