*   He chooses color or black and white photography depending on what situation it is and what is his  objective.

*   His perfect model is one who is like clay in his hands. One, with whom he can create whatever he plans. Both physically and emotionally.

*   He will never do paparazzi phtography.

*   He gets inspired by an unconditional love.

* Oskars Cirsis
* Photography / Idea
* Several years ago Oskars asked his friend to describe him, answer what he is. And she wrote an answer: «Ingredients you will need to «cook a Monkey» : (Monkey was another name * Oskar’s friends used to call him) cheerfullness which «sticks» to everyone around him either they want it or not; music; a hundred and one idea; cookies; sugar, spice and everything nice; charisma; amazing luck; shamelessness; a pair of brown eyes; a smile; competition spirit; and a little bit of vanity.»
* His talent was growing very gradually in him. He saw other people doing, creating, photographing something. And he though «I can do that too». He usually didn’t like thing other people did. He always had a thought in his mind that he can do it better.
* Oskars became dirty ( in a good way) with advertising. He works in advertising business and has «Junior art director» words written on his business card. He can’t imagine himself anywhere else.
* He says: «In my works, i try to be interesting for myself and others. I rarely take pictures without and idea, just like that.  I need an idea, a vision why and how this or that will look interesting. Of course there always are excpetions.
* He never seriously thought of having a part in an exhibition. But if he will have something truly amazing to show he will.
* Oskars loves experimenting. He always tries to discover something new: technique, view, pose. He does not have favorite place where to shoot. He likes finding new places to show.
* His first film was used about 4 years ago and as he says it was an awful experience if talking about the results.
* His talent’s BOOM was when he was working as a photo reporter at TVnet. He was seeing a lot and visiting a lot of interesting events but this work has suck out his creativity. He got it back when he changed his place of work.
* He likes both digital and analogue cameras.  Using either of them depends on what does he want to see in the end. Usually he uses analogue cameras when resting and relaxing, without any great worries about what result images will he get.
* Cirsis – is Oskar’s surname. His previous name – Monkey had to be forgotten. He couldn’t introduce himself to grownups as a Monkey.
* Polaroid images is the experimental part. Great part of this experiment is my friend Renārs. He was the one who is modeling for me in polaroid images. And the one who bought polaroid camera and film pack.
* At this moment Oskars says : » i will never photograph something i do not like or something i am not sure in.»

* George Avetisyan
* Photographer / Painter / Hip Hop music / Graphic design
* He was given birth and was growing near Talsi, now living in Riga. Had lived some time in USA. George is balanced, steady and focused. He has his own unique features. From all media he prefers music, poetry and photography because they are the most natural. Unlike design and painting, where everything can be made up.
* His favorites in photography are Richard Avedon, Diana Airbus, Henri Cartier Bresson and Philippe Halsman who was born in Riga. In painters, he admires Salvador Dali, armenian painter Ivan Konstantinovich Aivazovsky, and born in Latvia Mark Rothko. From painters of our days : Shawn Barber and David Von Bassewitz. Speaking of graphics and illustrators : Andy Warhol, Tavis Coburn, Jorge Alderete un Asaf Hanuka. Musicl preferences : Bob Marley, Common, Madlib, Dj Krush, Zero 7, Dj Premier, The Roots and others.
* George thinks that everyone and each of us is different. We all are. We have our own sphere of expressing our emotions and thoughts. And this is why we are unique. The question is if we have the knowledge and wiseness to use our talants and power.
* Apart from many things he does, he has his own business. His company SIA BE (official web site) which will soon have a 3 years anniversary. It was going all different ways but George and his team are very ambitious.
* He divinizes traveling, airports, hanging out in the nature. Being active while resting and passing time with his friends. Sometimes he also likes to do nothing, switch off his thoughts and may be read something from Osho, M. Bulgakov.
* When making a photograph George is trying to plan his concept in advance.  Anyway he never can miss a chance to point and shoot if he sees something great. George loves working with black and white film and develops it himself.
* George mostly uses oil while painting but he also uses watercolors, charcoal, ink and pastel. Some time ago , he mostly liked to paint old-school way. But original ideas never end.

* Hip hop music is something he uses to communicate. Word is the most powerful way of communicating. And hip hop is musical genre in which you can combine melody, feelings and information.

* She says: «I am a multi-person. It is interesting for me to make an object first, for example,a doll or a mask, and than to use it in a shoot, and afterward,may be, to write a short story about it. This is my difference from majority of other artists who can’t create an object for their shoot themselves, or artists who ask for others help to create something. I like people who expand their already wide edges  – Matthew Barney(sculptor,director,actor) or like Nick Cave (musician, writer).»
* «Until a very particular moment i was absolutely lonely kid, as a result, everything i can do now, i learned while sitting alone in my room. Later it turned out that it attracts other people. Now, thanks to what i am able to do, I do have opportunity to meet with different people and I am interesting enough to them. If people would not find me themselves through my pictures and would not offer their company, it is possible, that i would stay there in my room, falling deeper and deeper into the »rabbit hole of my own navel». I am extroverted introvert. I am sure I don’t want to be doing portraits of my own navel for my whole life.»
* «My first deliberate shot was made at age of twelve - I was in watch for senior student whom i liked and took a picture of him. From that time on photography for me is a way to mentally fuck people. I have a series of photographs called «Mike» in different techniques devoted to my loved one, I enjoy taking photographs of my friends and relatives.
* If for some reason I have to take a photograph of a stranger, whom I do not like and who was chosen by someone else but me, I am having such an uncomfortable feeling inside me as if some kind of homeless bystander would offer me to have oral sex with him. I wont lie- I am totally not interested in all people as a species. Only some of them.»
* «If selling fruits of your arched tree may be called work – then yes, my job is related to my life passions. This year i would be ending the third year of psychology faculty if i didn’t give up studying there.unfortunately,working as a clinical psychiatrist on practice I came across much more sadness than i could ever combine in my art. I draw sketches of tattoos on request. There lives a man in south America,who already has 4 tattoos based on my sketches,and he wants  more. I wish I could meet him someday – a man who i have basically painted with my art. My best friend has a tattoo of an octopus,the sketch of which i had drawn.that’s like having a baby together.
* «what is common in all of my works,is that they were made while being literally ‘drunk’ with my own potential possibilities,but never had they fulfilled that intoxication.»
* «I come up with an idea , I write it down somewhere,and, if after some time it still feels good,i bring it to life. It happened like this with the album ‘the crowded book’, and the same goes with the toys. The majority of the ideas seem stupid to me already on the next day.»

* RIST
* Street art
* He is madly sick with this art. Even if he wanted he couldn’t stop.
* Firts piece on the wall was born when RIST was twelve. And RIST as an artist was born in 2006.
* Style is something he differs from other artists.
* RIST thinks that street art in Latvia is slowly dying. There was an activity BOOM some time ago but now it’s all quiet. Hopefully it is quiet before the big wind. We can all surely be waiting something huge from RIST.

* Street artists / Designers / Happy couple
* Madara and Andris - ZAI team do it because they like it. They place stickers all over different cities to make them more friendly.
* The couple lives with their two cats in an Art Nouveau building in the center of Riga, Latvia.
* If ZAI had not become artists they would be sportsman (Andris) and veterinarian (Madara). If they could live somewhere apart from Riga they would have chosen Tokyo.  Andris can get inspired from everything around him. As for Madara,  she gets inspired from her family, people who make sweet stuff, nature, traveling, good boks, magazines.
